Behind the Scenes

Shantell Guidry has been a beacon of light in the healthcare industry for over 30 years. Shantell's healthcare  experience ranges  in a variety of settings. She began her healthcare experience as a certified nursing assistant, her passion was fueled by her grandmother. Her grandmother assisted and helped in the community by providing transportation to others to medical appointments, grocery stores, and other important errands. Keeping Hebrews 13:16 in mind “And do not forget to do good and to share with others,” 
Shantell has continued this legacy by providing these loving acts of service since her grandmother's passing.
In May 2016, Shantell founded Jacobs Healing Hands, which received nonprofit 501(c)(3) status in October 2018. Jacobs Healing Hands aims to bridge the healthcare gap for individuals without health insurance by covering costs for home care services, medical equipment, transportation, and more, with referrals from hospitals, doctors’ offices, churches, nursing homes and other community settings. Shantell’s latest endeavor has taken her grandmother’s passion into overdrive, with a new mobile food pantry to serve the community healthily and safely, especially in food deserts. Beyond that, Shantell passionately and tirelessly provides social and emotional outlets, services, and events for seniors and the community, to brighten, support, and spread mental and physical health and well being to those in need. In doing so, she lifts and inspires individuals and communities to discover and spread their own light to others.
